Welcome

From Esecurityvic

Mailing List - We have setup a low volume list so we can communicate our progress to you.

This unofficial website aims to foster discussion about the formation of an eSecurity cluster for Victoria (Australia).

This is an industry initiative by a collection of advocates and interested parties who feel strongly that Victorian companies and academia are doing some world-class work in security and there could be many benefits from collaboration and national/international recognition. Whilst there are many favourable factors necessary to start an eSecurity cluster, there are also many challenges and open questions in its formation and operation.

In true collaborative style, this website is a focal point for ideas and discussion from which a more formal organisation and plans will evolve. Please contribute to its content and encourage other Victorian companies and interested people to do likewise.

Activities

Survey - Ensure that the eSecurity Victoria cluster is working for you. Take the survey!

eSecurity Cluster Accretion - Thursday 9 March 2006 - The second information evening is a prelude to the formation of the eSecurity Victoria cluster. It's your chance to hear how your organisation can become a foundation member of the cluster and help lead the industry. You can also mix with others from the industry, as well as hear of some of the latest developments in the field and visions for the future. For the programme, see Information Evening 2.

Information Evening - Tuesday 9 August 2005 - This was a great success with over 80 people attending! The participants came from over 50 companies, all in some way involved in developing, selling or using IT security products. The evening discussed the idea of forming a Victorian-based eSecurity community of practice or cluster. For a summary, the presentations, photographs and attendees - see Information Evening

Hiring of a Consultant - John Snare has been hired to discuss with any interested parties the opportunities for development of the eSecurity industry in Victoria and beyond. To make sure your opinion counts, contact John at john.snare@bigpond.com or John.Snare@au.fujitsu.com for a meeting or a chat.
